Al Qaeda insults President - elect Obama

Comments

A few things: al-Qaeda has an American-born adviser (hence the Malcolm X reference). The second thing is that these guys are some of the most bigoted bastards on the planet. Even an African Muslim, such as the President-elect’s own father was before he became an atheist, is regarded by al-Qaeda as second-class. Al-Qaeda is probably seeing Clinton loyalists get in, so they aren’t hopeful of change—they were targeting US locations during the Clinton years. So they are not looking at the potential “uniting” policies of President-elect Obama: they are prejudging him because of his race and his politics and mixing them with their usual hatred of the American way.
I think the last thing in the world they want is to be "united" with us. They want us DEAD. End of story. They are trying to motivate the black American muslims into starting a race war.

Obama getting elected may be the "worst case senario" for them. They want to keep the conflict going. They have no desire to settle anything.
Jack - You make a good point. And, I think that the Middle East will be difficult now matter who gets into the White House.
Darcy - You make a good point. Unfortunately, most Americans are not aware of the potential for more violence in the Middle East.
Obama's election means nothing to alQaida. Why would anyone (Timothy) think that Obama would be good for them or any kind of change? Obama is a Zionist at least as rabid as the Zionists before him. He is neurotic about his heritage and has taken to extremism in support of Israel as a way of screaming to the world that he is not one of "them". He has an Israeli for a chief of staff and is certainly going to put an established Zionist at the head of Dept of State. The folks who have been (mis)named 'alQaeda' by the USA were vituperatively anti-American before the Iraq war and they will be antiAmerican after the Iraq war. What would Obama do to change that?
math - Vituperatively indeed. If I did know you better, I would say you are bitter about Obama's Pro - American stance.

On the other hand, you make a good point about Anti - American terrorism in general.

I was not saying anything about Obama's "Pro-American stance". I was talking about his Zionist stance.

I hope you are not trying to suggest that being Zionist is the same as being pro-
American? That is the kind of confusion that Obama may be under, along with politicians from all over the map, like Clinton and Bush. But it is patently untrue upon any rational examination.

My question and confusion still remains, Timothy, about why you would suggest that the election of Obama would be welcomed by Arab anti-American and anti-Zionist extremists? It is mindboggling. Please explain.

math - You have a good question. I am still unclear about who was responsible for the following. Was it Arab anti-American s or anti Zionists extremist.

US Peace Keepers are killed in Lebanon. Over 200 Marines were killed when a truck loaded with explosives crashed into the US Marine compound at Beirut Airport. The Marines, who had been in Beirut as part of a multi-national force to promote peace in Lebanon, had after a short stay in Lebanon become a target of Syrian-supported extremists. Soon after the bombings US forces withdrew from Lebanon. 58 French troops were also killed when a 400-pound device destroyed a French base. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility
Very good point, Math. The appointment of Rahm Emanuel was a confirmation that Obama has a Zionist stance, and it was total confirmation for various anti-American, anti-Zionist groups.
